Dude, they are selling it for MAP, or lowest advertised price. Thats what it is, I have a dealer's pricebook. That's the lowest it will be advertised for (from authorized retailers) until Olympus changes the price.

Thanks for that info that oly is advertising MAP on their website not MSRP.

So pretty much oly has set the price all over the country at 599. When Amazon, BH and adorama are all listing them for the same. Think by the end of PMA, if nothing else come up. I will be pre ordering the epl-1. It is the perfect travel camera for someone that wants the options of a dslr.

I just finished updating the website. You can pre-order now and I won't charge your card until shortly befoe it ships. They say "shipping March 5th" but in my experience, it may be a week until we get cameras and then housings will follow.

I'll continue to update the site with new information and photos as I get it. I will be meeting with Olympus at PMA. If you have specific questions post them, and I'll see if I can get answers.

BTW, If you buy at Amazon, EBay or the rest, good luck finding someone who dives... ;-)

I do not dive expensive camera. Since it only makes up 1% of my photography time. This thing is a light weight travel camera for topside shooting when I travel light. No dive support needed.

The only thing I would like would be a reasonable price macro for a m4/3. But since that is not happening this year, I will be getting the MMF1 adopter and the zuikos 35mm 3.5 macro for my macro needs.

And of course the evf

Jack, on your site you have 749.99 crossed out and 599.99 for the price.... on the Olympus site it has 599.99. Where does the 749.99 come from?

Post 32 explains it. But from all the online review site on the epl-1 msrp is 599. Very very interesting.

The prices are as noted. Olympus seems to want to put the MAP pricing on their US site. $749 is the list, $599 is the street price. i do not expect it to be discounted further for quite some time, there's not a lot of margin left.

Here's a few new photos of the system I was sent.

You know, it looks bulky until you notice the scale up against those little strobes. Pretty sleek, but could have been smaller by dropping the EVF since there is a huge LCD screen???

Very nice overall.
