That is how I got into diving too... booked a trip to Cozumel and was told, "You HAVE to dive there!" So, got my C-card (through Advanced) and went to the little island with a lot of anxiety and fear.
That was a while back and all I can say is that was the moment I was HOOKED! On a dive at 113ft, I rounded a wall and looked down into the abyss and up to the surface. I realized how very surreal it was and have not stopped diving since.
