Seashadow:
Choose an image file, like jpg. Compress the size of your picture if necessary.
You upload the picture somewhere, like Photobucket Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket
Under that picture in your album on Photobucket, you will see a web address for a "direct link" to your picture.
"Copy" that link address.
On your Scubaboard post, click on the "image" icon in the toolbar (the small yellow box with the mountain).
Delete what's in the box if necessary (or complete it with your direct link - so part of it is not duplicated). Paste your picture link addess. Click ok. You're done.
Hope that helps. It's easier than it sounds.
