I will be staying close to you at the Sabor It used to be the Reef Club then has changed twice now Sabor. May 2 to May 12. 2 couples I see the resort has changed to Dive Palancar. But also Sand dollar sports is still open at the other end of the resort. I have stayed here and dove with Sand dollar 4 times. Have you dove with Dive Palancar and how was it. Thanks JIm

One of my partners has stayed at Sabor three times in the past year and been with Dive Palancar each time. He has been OK with them overall. His only complaints have been that they do not have small (read "fast") boats and they depart later in the morning (0830) than he would like. He said the boats can on occassion be rather crowded and lots of brand new divers!

My wife and I just last night booked a trip to Sabor for May 13 to May 19. I need to see if Aldora will pick me up that far south. They are my first choice..... Big steel tanks (120 cf), fast boats, and generally more experienced divers grouped together. If not, I am not sure who I will use. Maybe Christi with Blue XT-Sea.

Put me and non-diving wife (Laura) down for May 13 thru May 19.We will be at the Sabor and hopefully diving with Aldora (if I can talk them in to coming all the way down there to pick me up each day!).

suprane, a lot of the reefs are infront and south of Sabor. Wouldn't think it would be an issue for Aldora to pick you up there.

I don't know about Aldora's policy on this, but picking up divers far south means either that the second dive has to be down there or the op has to double back to drop them off. That, or drop the divers off somewhere farther north and have them cab it back to their hotel.

But also Sand dollar sports is still open at the other end of the resort. I have stayed here and dove with Sand dollar 4 times.

Last I heard Sand Dollar had moved to the International Cruise Ship Terminal. It was my understanding that Sabor basically asked them to vacate the property. I can not confirm that as fact, however. So take it for what it is worth.

Also it is my understanding that they were the dive op involved with the lost-diver incident last month. See:
