I feel your pain !
Got out of the hospital just last Fri. Microdiscectomy of L4-L5. Took out 85% of my disc.
Haven't been in the water since 7/23 at Casino Pt. where I met Dr. (Dracula) Bill for the first time. Nice guy.
Been out of work since then and still have another 6 weeks to go. Thank god I've got a civil service job!
Won't be able to get back in the H2O til the end of Oct. at least.
Please save some bugs for us gimps will ya?

Mo2vation:
Broke my leg this weekend fishing. They put in a big ol' titanium rod, and I should be off my feet for a couple of weeks, and back in the water in 4 - 6 weeks - if everything goes well.

I'll spare you the details - but just remember Trout Fishing is a full contact sport (!) I stepped on a small patch of ice on a foot bridge, and my legs spun one way, my body spun the other and SNAP.

So I'm in rehab for the next several weeks - diving through all of you...

More soon.

Ken

I will think of you while I am spearfishing for ling cod and vermillion rock fish this coming weekend. Its just too dangerous fishing on shore with a pole. :)

(Now where did all those GWSs go that were sighed up here over the past couple of weeks?)

I'm sorry to hear about your leg! Hopefully, you will be back diving again by your birthday! Has it been almost a year already?
Some aquatic therapy might be helpful once you have healed some! It is amazing how well you can move around in the water after an injury!
Good Luck

As the official Canuck bashee...and wearer of black socks...I just have to say how sorry I am Ken. I mean now who am I going to dive with? GUE is gonna yank my card if they find out! :D

Dang, that looks like a DIR fracture to me..........goodluck, hope it heals soon.

Maybe the break, but not the rig. Too much metal on metal contact to be DIR.

Ken-

Sorry to hear about your accident. I guess you won't be making your signature deep water entries off of boats for a while.

I know you're from the LA area, and maybe that explains a lot, but do you think that they really mean it when they tell each other to "Break a leg"?

Heal well and soon!

This quad wishes you well and encourages you to go easy on the rehab area and remember to stretch - Good luck. Accidents happen - rehab takes work.

Do you know of any opportunities for a disabled diver in CA?
