Hoping to get married sometime in the near future and plan on taking my wife to CoCo view to get her first diving cert. I also fell in love with Utila a long time ago and would love to take a trip over to the island, show her around the sights...Jade Seahorse etc..have a few drinks at Treetanic and head back to Roatan the next day. Since the tragedy involving Captain Vern, who is in the business of offering passage? I dont mind it taking a few hours but quicker is nice too. Any idea on the rates involved?

Some options:

You can fly - contact Alice at Worldwide Travel. https://www.facebook.com/wwtutila/timeline?ref=page_internal
or Morgans Travel - https://www.facebook.com/pages/Utila-Morgans-Travel/672137666183420 Prices are shown for current flights.

Take the ferries - the Galaxy from Roatan to La Ceiba followed by the Princess to Utila. $105 R/T for both. 2PM departure from Roatan puts you on Utila just after 5PM. There's also a morning option. They moor next to each other so transfers are as easy as walking across the parking lot. The Galaxy leaves from Dixon Cove which is just east of the airport. I've done it, it's pretty smooth. The morning return from Utila leaves at 6:20AM and there's almost an hour layover on the mainland. You're still back on Roatan by about 10:30/10:45.

no need to take two ferries and spend 3 hrs. there plenty of utila skippers do the trip (weather permitting) , generally for $55 (takes between 1-1.5 hrs). best way to get one is to advertise what day you want to do the trip on "utila buy and sell" on Facebook, people will respond.
however a 10 min flight booked through alice gets my vote.
