ok, Charlie is now a hurricane, and it is expected to hit
the lower Keys Friday morning (after nicely trouncing Cuba
Thursday night). Also, looks like the Caymans are right
in its path.

here's the three-day chart for Charlie:

Also, Bonnie is set to hit the Panhandle Thursday morning,
and it is organizing and strengthening, so it could easily
turn into a hurricane before it hits.

here's Bonnie's three-day chart:

and here's NOAA's hurricane center page:

Should blow through before the weekend's diving activities start! Will be keeping an eye on it though as it comes through. I am sure there will be another 10 updates to those maps before the hurricane gets here. What are they thinking it is going to be a catagory 1?

As I mentioned here: http://scubaboard.com/t67471.html

We're a direct hit for it here, my concerns jokingly are about diving, but for those of you who haven't been through a hurricane before, you may be in for a surprise at how much damage it'll do a long way inland.

As for me, if things aren't to bad here, I'll be staying in the area. If the fit hits the shan, I'm going to visit Scuba_Jenny. She's graciously proffered some space for my family and dogs to come ride out the storm.

hey colin, be safe and leave early rather than late if there's any doubt

We're going to my Mom's if things look bad. I've got two bridges to cross to get out of here (the only other way out has a one lane bridge, at least the other way the bridges are two lanes, and have to head almost a mile towards the harbor to get to them :).

I'm diving on Sat in WPB and was supposed to bring my brother so he could do a discover dive. The dive charter called and canceled the discover dive because the conditions may be rough but my dive is still a go. What do you guys think the conditions will be like on sat? My brother still wants to go and bubble watch but I’m hoping maybe by Friday if it looks good the discover dive will be back on.

Really! You don't want to be stuck on Alligator Alley with non-stop torrential rain coming down riding it out in rest stop. :D
