I actually had to look at the battery on mine for flying as we were being warned about Egyptian authorities being extremely paranoid about any batteries at the time I was there. Took 2 mins to remove and replace - just be careful with the Oring.
Well worth carrying a spare IMHO. Couple of £ or $ to guarantee the ability to dive means I have a 2 spare AA batteries for the computer and one spare coin cell for the transmitter in a zip lock bag within the computer case.
