This is a common problem with the Nova 200, and Scubapro are aware of it. I was advised to solder a ridge onto the contact plate (it has a solid centre with a ring surrounding it). I haven't performed the fix yet, but it is apparently successful.

I recently purchased this unit as a backup. It was working fine till recently. I have new batteries installed (I tested them as well) an it just does not want to lite up. Some times it will work but later if I click the on off button nothing happens. If I tap the lite it will lite at times. Any ideas.
Had a similar problem with it. A divemaster put a dime between the batteries and the contact. It worked
