Bingo! Maybe better to think of it as on the side of most of the world?
You know what they say...

There's 2 kinds of countries... those that use the metric system and those that have put a man on the moon.

And me thinking that arithmetic was a branch of math. If it isn't, which of the sciences does it belong to?

The Peon branch.. Mostly for accountants and divers.:gas:

I've seen a few mathematicians that are terrible at arithmetic. Not so many bookkeepers!

The Peon branch..
Ah, thanks. Now, which of the basic sciences does that branch belong to?

We'll just ignore that the Apollo guidance computer that landed on the moon actually did the calculations in SI units and then output in imperial.

NASA has been SI based for 30 years.

NASA has been SI based for 30 years.
NASA missions have used one or the other for about 30 years (well, they've used both for a good bit longer than that). There's been plenty of stuff in that time that hasn't been metric. Some missions use both.

The old adage is that there are two countries, those that use the metric system and those that have been to the moon, but in reality, even the computers that were used on the apollo mission to get to the moon were programmed in metric.
