It would be nice to have a "Dive Software" sub forum where people could post questions about the various dive log and dive planning apps.
But I'm a bit unclear if there is a process how I could request creation of such a forum...

Why am I interested? I'm the maintainer of Subsurface (am open source / free dive log that runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux and supports most common dive computers) and would love to have a place to answer user questions...

So you want a new forum?

You need to think about the following:
  • Is the subject suitable for ScubaBoard?
  • Is it necessary, isn't this subject already covered by another forum?
  • Is it to be a private forum? If so, for which group? Any specific access restrictions (ie read-only etc.)?
Got that covered?

Good, next thing you need to do is to start a thread in Suggestions (part of Site Support).

Also, you'll need at least twenty interested members who'll back your proposal.

Finally, the ScubaBoard Staff will consider your proposal and create the forum if approved.

Please note that any forum may also be removed due to inactivity.

Any questions? Send us a message!

I've changed the title of this thread so your first post now constitutes the suggestion.

Now let's see how much interest is expressed by others.

We are the developer/publisher of divePAL (a free dive log / planner that runs on Windows, iOS, Android and web) and would like to see this forum too :D

Another vote. Had a thread a while back regarding Linux and dive computer software.
