Weights go on the floor of the boat, never on the seat where they can fall on somebody's foot.
 
There is no such thing as having fins that are "too long"

sorry i had some moron from Wisconsin tell me that on a dive boat in PDC. :(
 
the lower portion of your wetsuit stays dry only as long as you can "hold it" durning the dive .... in other words don't over drink before going in ....
 
1. Never hold your breath
2. Always tip your Divemaster.
 
my favorite is that the weight belt always goes on the outside of the wetsuit!!!

Don't forget FINS when jumping off a boat. (You look very silly when you do this in front of students)

had a dive buddy that was a DM candidate w/ a boat full of students do that in Marathon last month....I laughed at the time, which ensures that I will one day fall victim to the same fate:D
