For those who say "Where's the data?" and "Is anybody doing anything?" here is a recent prospectus
which together with the NOAA strategic plan for the Florida Reef Tract and a UN White Paper is pretty much where the published info stands. There are tantalizing individual research efforts, for example this. It is all under-funded and difficult work. It is easy to ask "So what transmits it?" and 'Does restricting diving actually help?" but both quetions are extremely difficult and unresolved. So you do what you can. and try and slow the progression to buy time. That is the STINAPA strategy.

You may find this interesting.
Do scuba divers have an effect on the coral reef? Yes, unequivocally, and it is not likely to be positive.

Weird, I get "base map not available" error and no Stinapa data. Was working fine last few weeks...

(Hmm... tried a different browser and it's fine.....)

Thanks.

Maybe try refreshing your cache (f5 in WIN), or use a different browser.

The map seems to have added public rinse stations near BOPEC and at the national park gate. Hopefully some good news for access to North sites.

Those Blue rinse-station sites were added th the map on June 27. Not sure they suggest any opening of the sites on the Park. See post #37.
