I just got a set of shears recently, but i dont have a pouch with them. I was wondering where you might purchase these types of holders from?

Another option that came to me is that i have some left over webbing from making my harnesses and was wondering about chopping and sewing parts together to make a pocket, maybe adding in some velcro sealed bit of fabric to hold the shears in, put an eye loop through the top so i can attach the pouch to the webbing and voila homemade shear pouch. Or is it easier to just buy them from somewhere?

I will probably be in Dive Rite Express over the weekend and so can ask them if they sell them seperately.

I was thinking of doing the same for my little DR Z knife so i can transfer it from one BP to the other without unthreading it, just slip it in the new pocket.

Thoughts, suggestions, recommendations?

Ok, i searched a little and came up with these thread:
http://www.scubaboard.com/t29479-.html - sewing methods
http://www.scubaboard.com/t29386-.html - thread
http://www.scubaboard.com/t27553-.html - DIY pouches
At least that is a start on the DIY method, now on to pouches for sale

ScubaChick sells the shears and sheath for $10.00 each. I don't think they sell just the sheath though.

I keep a bungi loop in my left bellow pocket rivit hole and connected to that with a double snap....some times a bolt snap conected to the bungi loop with that and something eles like a mirror or a whistle or infrequent used items connected to it.
There is even room for a spare mask.
I use a bungi loop one the right side pocket with things I would use more often like a spool and sausage/marker.

Those pouches that the maglites come in look like the perfect size for shears. Haven't tried it yet but I will get back to you.

If i didnt have enough webbing, i was thinking of this as i had one hanging around. It fits well and is a good start, just bought some velcro, needle and thread this last weekend - so i will do it one way or another.

The Galls stuff is almost as expensive for the pouch alone as buying the shears and pouch together from an LDS - DIY here we come

Menards has a stainless shears with a black handle in the tool aisle for $1.99 but they don't have a sheath.
