I'm excited to jump into this community! My wife and I are starting our cert class on tuesday. We are getting ready for our honeymoon/ one year anniversary trip to kauai.

Any recommendations for good dives for beginners in the winter on kauai?

Sheraton Caverns on the south side. Besides being a shallower boat dive, it's one of the better dives - lots of lava tubes to swim through and turtles. Koloa Landing is a fairly easy entry shore dive - a walk down an old boat ramp. Both are in the Poipu area. Seasport Divers lists some other sites in the area on their website: http://www.seasportdivers.com/scuba-diving.html#diveSitesSection

The north side of Kauai will be mostly undiveable during the winter when the big waves roll in if that's a factor in choosing your accommodations.

Thanks diversteve! First class went great, and looking forward to my next class tonight!
