I've been reading a few threads here on the Olympus 5050 and I'm still trying to decide if I want to purchase one (can't afford the housing for my Fuji S2 Digital SLR)....

How well does this camera do without a strobe? What strobe is typically used? I'm trying to conserve cash here so I wanna be cheap, but still get some good pictures.

Yes.

One of several strobes are used.

Not to be snippy, but this question as well as variations of it are asked almost daily. I suggest you read this for and/or do a search on C-5050, you'll get more complete answers, details get lost when they are recited over and over.
