What exactly are you arguing? Newer divers are going to follow a table or a computer to guide their diving, regardless if they understand anything about decompression or decompression algorithms. I clearly stated that there are unexplained episodes of DCS associated with the use of all tables and decompression algorithms, you know that. I believe it is in a diver's best interest to have some understanding of the variety of decompression algorithms available before they make the major purchase of a dive computer.
1 diving is not absolutely safe
2 deco is too complicated to teach in an entry level course
3 the meaning and implications of 'aggressive' or 'conservative' are beyond the experience and knowledge of new divers
4 because of the above they cannot make an informed choice about what algorithm is best for them
A dive computer is only a major purchase if the buyer is fooled into buying an over the top computer by reading forums like this. Really a cheap £150 computer will do for all OW level diving. I will spend that on taxis or airport parking when travelling to a 'destination' resort.
