But then, I typically live where the diving is.....

Hello guys:

I am just trying to figure out the travel patterns of American dive traveler. Can everyone tell me ever since you started diving:

1). How many of your dives were local dives (not requiring travel / over night stay somewhere else)

2). How many of your dives required you to travel within USA?

3) How many of your dives required you to travel outside USA?

Thanks -

:coffee:

Early diving

1. 85%

2. 10% Lived in Fl and went to other Fl diving areas

3. 5% Caribbean travel

Recently

1. 0% Live in central NC and have little use for fresh water

2. 5% Go to the coast rarely, like warmer water

3. 95% All to Pacific Islands/countries

Estimating: 50%/10%/40%

I don't think there's anything to learn by this exercise though. If you happen to be fortunate enough to live in a place with good local diving, you're going to have lots of dives there. If you're not, you're going to travel more. The travel in the US v. travel abroad question is more about preference, budget and priority but maybe you've got something in mind?

0 % (lakes are not my thing!)

2). How many of your dives required you to travel within USA?
7 % (mostly FL Keys, some California, some North Carolina)

3) How many of your dives required you to travel outside USA?
93%
