United plane change time needed in Newark?

Now I see why...the Nexus enrollment centers are all near the Canadian border. Go Canucks.:) The global entry interviews can be done at international airports in the U.S. (basically where customs & immigration keeps office hours). There still aren't many of those anymore especially in the Midwest. I had to drive over 5 hours to do the 10 min. interview. It was worth it though if you travel much. Really speeds up re-entry and helps make connections when you have to travel to the rural hinterlands.
 
worst that can happen is you spend the night in Newark, decide to go out somewhere to eat and get mugged or maybe killed. What are your choices besides eating in?
Yikes - what a mean thing to say! Newark's got plenty of nice motels right by the airport. In addition, it's got the historic Ironbound section, with what may be the best collection of Portugese restaurants in the U.S.

All that aside, I would never do a 1:10 connection on an international flight.
