Question Using strap wrench and torque wrench simultaneously?

What tank uses a 1/2" npt? 3/4 and 7/8 are no problem that way. I use a pair of narrow wrenches for regulator work.

Some old steel 72s, and earlier SCUBA tanks. There were some 1/2" NPS made for a while, on 72s, but the 3/4 won out as the standard.

Unless you get into vintage, no worries.

A lot of older steel 72s that are still in use use the 1/2" npt. I have 2 of them. Made in 1953 and 54 respectively.
As for the OP's question, no need to put a torque wrench on it. Hold the cylinder between your knees, put the wrench on and tap with a rubber mallet until it stops.
 
That explains it. My 72 has the 3/4 I think. Been awhile since I looked at it since it was refused hydro.
