I just had my buddy get certified for diving with NAUI and they do teach airshare and its a good thing... because our first day at vortex (his first non-instructional dive), a cave diver was on a deco stop and his regulator malfunctioned and miles airshared with him during his stop
Are you really telling me that this "cavediver" only had one regulator and no buddy?
Or was this "cavediver" an OW diver with recreational gear that happened to be in a cave?
Big difference.
Agreed, there are more than a few recreational divers going beyond their limits at Vortex - without the training and gear.
I think with everyone having octos and even a lot of people sporting pony bottles, there is no reason to really have buddy breathing....Especially since it does seem to be a little dangerous and people might try to old their breath while their buddy is breathing.
