I am comming up from down south (north carolina) and will be diving in either Lake Erie or Lake Ontario next week - what are the water temps (at depth)? 100ft +?

thanks in advance

I will take a wild guess and say 56*. A little farther North in the St. Clair River we have 66* and I do not see it reaching 70* this has been a cold Summer we should be at 76*

The temperature at depth in the Great Lakes remains pretty constant... you know that physics thing about maximum density of water and all that... four degrees Celsius (about 38F). Above the thermocline(s) is variable. I have seen Erie produce 75F, Ontario 68F, but this year is NOT great for water temps. Diving in the St Lawrence last weekend we should have seen 72 or greater this time of year and it was 68.

Hope this helps.

FYI, dove the tiller wreck, it was 42 at depth. Nice an cold for me.
