Ok folks, I posted a similar thread in the "Mexico Forum" last year, and unfortunately we did not get to make the journey.

Nevertheless, we are re-planning this year and I am thinking about Curacao, USVI or BVI. So this is where I need your help.

We are a family group of 16, with only 4 divers, perhaps 5 next year. Boat versus shore is not really an issue, although shore is nice. That said, I need to find something for the other 11-12 people to do while the divers are in the water.

Bounce any ideas of of me folks, I'm all ears. If I don't thank you directly, I thank you now!

God bless and happy and safe diving,

Cyprian

Curacao is a good option but not Kura Hulanda - it's too far west. There's not much for the non-divers to do. And a 45min drive to town. Stay in one of the resorts in town or in Piscadera Bay - 10 mins. to the shopping downtown, nice beaches, watersports, the SeaQquarium and Ostrich Farm, etc. I'm not an AI person but Breezes Curacao All Inclusive Resort - Super-Inclusive Resort, Spa & Casino | Breezes there has a trapeze among other activities. They also have one of the Ocean Encounters diveshops on-site, the Dive Bus is just across the street and there's some good dives less than 5-10 mins. away. In Piscadera Bay the Marriott was pretty nice. Nice beach, good pool area, small casino etc.

BVI's - at least Virgin Gorda - might be too quiet for the non-divers. It's primarily one small town, several yacht harbors and a lot of good boat diving nearby. A couple of good restaurants and the Baths are the attractions there. Lots of isolated beaches if that's of interest.

My non-diving wife and non-diving kids love Curacao. Going on our third trip next week. We stay at the Marriott - nice place, good value, centrally located. Recommended.

Thanks for the reply. But this only begs the question: What are your activity recommendations for the kids/non-diving adults?

Take care,

My family is all about beaching it, at the Marriott and all around the island. But there's hiking, mountain biking, tennis, golf, shopping, water sports, etc all over the islands.
