Where to stay in Bonaire

Just curious - certain operations have reef areas associated with them. Do they have control over who dives on those sites or is it a free for all?

You can dive anywhere - the yellow rocks mark the dive sites and you can read up on-line and decide which of the 60 some sites you want to visit & dive. If you rent a jeep or truck there is usually parking at each site. Easiest shore diving you will ever do!! have a good one....

How about Harbor Village?

Definitely the nice$$$$t resort on the island...They've got 5 stars.

I stayed at BDR when I went last November and had a great time. The boat dives were great and they make shore diving easy. You simply drive up, get your tanks, and off you go. The inhouse restaurant had good food also if you didn't feel like venturing out. They were in the process of buying out Lion's Dive at the time which is right next store so they are even bigger now.

We were at the Divi Flamingo this past December, and liked it just fine. The only issue is that the one restaurant on the property is usually full by 6 PM, so you must have reservations. It's also a bit of a hike from one side of the property down to the dock. Apparently there was another dock at one time, which has now been blasted by a hurricane.

Rooms are nice and spacious, and the air conditioning kicks ***. Also it's only about 100 ft from the wall dive at Calabas Reef. Saw some huge green morays there, also a few octopus. We'll be back.
