My husband goes surfing a lot in San Diego and La Jolla and there are quite a few shark sightings of juvenile great whites and they do go after the seal every once in a while but I don't think there have been any human attacks. The DM on Roatan told us that all the sharks on the shark dive are all female. Males are to nervous to come around. He also said that if a shark is holding it's lateral fins close to it's side then they are nervous, if they are straight out then they are relaxed
