I'm working on planning another trip to Cozumel in 2018! I'm looking at Hotel Cozumel because it seems like a bargain! Does any one know how the in-room wifi is? I <shudder> will have to do some work during the time we're there.

Is the food really as bad as I've heard? Cost wise, I can still walk into town for dinner a few times!

    Thanks!!

The WiFi works but unfortunately just about everyone now has a WiFi device of some sort signed on which can slow it down at certain times of the day. If all else fails & you need to do something important there is a different network in the lobby which is usually much faster / more reliable. Food has got better over the years & my wife & I are happy with it knowing the cost isn't big. We still eat out at times but that's simply because we have several favorite places to eat. This is my new album for the hotel & note that there are decent Tacos & Fajitas available at the snack bar.

I’m here now, sitting by the pool, WiFi is good. It’s not been great in my room, but is good in the morning, on the dock waiting for my boat. Go figure

It's Mexico-Wifi is probably like powered by someone riding a bike, etc. Plus you're on vacation-go diving!

That, what they call food, couldn't pass for pet food if you ask me:)....but we did like the Two bedroom suite we had on the second floor....:)

Actually - we have very good internet on the island depending on where you're located and which plan and equipment you have. Whether the individual hotels each have the highest speed available or adequate routers/extensions is a different story.

I was just on vacation in Hawaii recently and they are still on dial up in many areas and other areas have absolutley no internet OR cell service. It was a great reason to be unplugged :)

You may not like it or think it's worth the cost when choosing the AI option over the Bed & Breakfast package but I'm perfectly fine with it. Maybe that's because I'm there during high season when they offer more variety, but maybe not. I'm not expecting Palace level buffets for what I pay & have stayed at the Grand & Iberostar at high season too & felt the food at HC was better than at the Grand (which has since changed ownership) but not quite as good as at the Iberostar. I'd rather stay more days at current pricing than fewer with more expensive meals getting served. The staff keeps my glass filled & I eat well enough to gain weight.

I was there a week ago, for my 28th trip to Coz, 25 times I stayed at Hotel Cozumel Resort. The food can be all over the map at times, but you have a choice no matter what meal you're having. Yes the turkey and steam table stuff gets old, so go into town , or hit Ernesto's Fajita Factory, and get the shrimp quesadillas and enjoy one of the best margaritas on the island. Back again next week. See ya there.
