pasley:
I am 50 year old male and I just suit up in the parking garage and stroll over to the dive site. It is a schlep, but IMHO not bad. The path to the top of the steps is paved and flat and a nice stroll.

If you do drop the gear off at the curb, it will save you about half the walk, maybe more, maybe less depending upon which dive plan we do. The magic word to the security guard is “beach access”.

Cool. I'm a less than 50 YO male in semi-reasonable shape, and the plan is not to walk any further in a drysuit than necessary - so I'll likely roll the bag down the path, and just carry it (or wear it) down the steps, and make another trip up and back for the tanks.

I'm certainly conscience of the tony digs - so no worries there. Thanks for the tip.

I agree with pasley 100%. Just keep in mind that he works out regularly!

I have only done this location once so my experience is limited, but when I went my buddies did the drop at the curb. I was kicking and screaming cause it just did not feel right. They insisted I would be appreciative later. I did it, but I did the full walk back to my car afterward. It was fine.

If you are unsure of your beach stair and long walk capabilities you can bring your rolling bag (and tarp) and go down the North ramp to the beach at Goff. Just a little more walk... Just do NOT leave your cart or bag at TOP of stairs for same reason that pasley said.

If you are doing 2 dives, you could bring 2 tanks on a dolly or wagon down that ramp OR do the exchange at the car. I cannot guarantee the same level of security that Casino Point enjoys. A bike type lock and chain may be good for your dolly. There is a ramp rail.

So you just go left in the resort and say "beach access" and drive down to the underground parking with your cash in hand?

Join us! But if you intend to "do the drop" you would drive in the main entrance and go north. It winds down and around for awhile until you come to a park bench and walkway. Drop it there. Then you drive back out to Coast Hwy, enter at Wesley and drive down to the parking garage.

See you tomorrow!

I'm coming. Don't know if there will be cheese with my whine, but I'll be there :D

It also seems to me that walking is a better, and possibly safer, option. I'm more concerned about getting sand in my gear than walking another 5 or 10 min (and I'm sure others will see the light at some point :54: )

I'm bringing two tanks because there's no way that we're going to do so much driving just for one dive.

See you tomorrow!
