Just ordering some REGS that i will be using in the uk and abroad however what first stage should i be getting?

I would suggest going with din on the first stage and get a yoke adapter at the same time. The adapters are only about $50 so that's the best way to go to cover all your bases.

i have just been through all of this on the above thread in the regulator section might be worth a read.....i have just bought regs for me and the Mrs and i prefered to go Yoke, and should i need one buy a dDIN adaptor for £15-20.

If it where me I would buy the Din and use a Yoke adapter. In the US the Din to Yoke adapter seem more available (Where I live anyway). I like the connection of the Din better that the Yoke, just seems more robust.

Mafor:
Same here, I'd buy DIN and a DIN to yoke adaptor. Best combo to travel...
Got my vote too. With this setup you are set for anywhere
