Ok, I'm starting this tread up again because my ET arrived today.

I'm a bit p*ssed cos the BC actually comes a 44lb wing, even though the website said 24lb (also confirmed by the store when I rang). I'm not sure what to do now. From the advice I've been given on SB in this thread and from the store, 24lb should be all I need for single alu tank warm water dives and even for cooler water with 7mm wetsuit & steel tank (which I may do occasionally). My wife's also going to use it, who's a lot smaller than me. I rang the store and now they say it comes with the 44 wing as standard and you cant get one with a 24lb wing o_O

As we're going to be travelling with it I'd like as small & light a possible. Is the 44lb wing physically much bigger & heavier than the 24lb (I'm assuming almost twice as big)? Is it going to be too big for our needs? Should I send this back and try to source one with a 24lb wing?

Cheers.
Well I have no idea what to say. I purchased mine ET 2 weeks ago, it is a 24# bladder, no mistaking it compared to my Ranger. I would wait for Huish to reply and see what they say, they have always been quick to reply to my emails and CS been better. Please keep us updated.

So this is the response from Huish (Zeagle) in Florida:
"I have never heard of this problem but I just sent an email to our sales rep. for the UK to see if maybe the Express Tech comes with a 44 lb bladder in UK but I was always under the impression the 24 lb bladder is standard. Once I hear back from him, I will let you know."

Followed later by:
"This was the response I received from our sales rep in regards to the bladder on your Express Tech:

"The Express Tech is sold and CE marked in Europe with a 44lb bladder. The 24lb bladder will not meet CE marking and therefore cannot be sold here within the EU. In the past customers have ordered the Express Tech and made a special order for the 24lb bladder as an extra."

So it looks like your BC is supposed to come with the bladder and if you'd like the 24, you can purchase one at an additional fee."

So there it is, its the EU! (hahaha, don't tell the 'Bexiteers'). But I'm not gonna start talking European politics, mainly cos I'm sick of hearing about it :banghead: (I voted remain)

I'm not gonna buy an additional wing so looks like ET's going home :(

Ah Man, I feel for you. Wish I could help more, but the EU regulations are :banghead:.

I dove this past weekend with the ET and enjoyed it, still working on some kinks. Have 2 days this weekend of diving and then another few days next week during spring break (love being a teacher). If you where local, I'd buy that 44lbs off you as I pretty sure I won't be using my Ranger much anymore, and the 44 would be nice on of the Grotto dives we do.

I wonder if you could mate these united states of litigation with the yurrupian soviet socialist consumer protections and sue someone for false advertising: after all, every shop lists ET as coming with #24 wing and nobody says "except in EU".
