Actually, I'm curious as what defines wreck penetration?

Actually, I'm curious as what defines wreck penetration?

Good question.

I was running line sorta "inside" at ~250dives. But I was pretty much a CF of techniques, gear and minimal (padi wreck) training. I didn't really figure it out until I took Cave1 in 2006(?). Here's one of the later forays, cruddy dropped knees and all.

First real penetration after tech-1. If I remember some 250 dives before that. Earlier then that it was just a penetration with light in sight.

I took the wreck cert course after 105 dives. Been in 4 wrecks for a total of 10 wreck dives since. I would say that I usually stayed within the light zone - except for a couple night dives.

I did a little room in the top of the cape breton after about 60 dives or so that was stretching the definition of a "swimthrough". Probably not hugely smart.

Did a couple more relatively weenie penetrations running line for 5 minutes into the Cape Breton and the Saskatchewan after cave1 sometime around 300-ish dives.

There aren't a lot of good wrecks to run line in around puget sound at shallower depths...

Been to the Dawn or the Hauler? If not I can take you sometime. Both are actually penetratable and shallow enough so you don't scream through the gas. There's another wreck down there very close but I forget its name or if you can get inside.

If you don't count the house boats and school bus at the quarries, I'd say I had about 150 before I attempted a limited light penetration dives. Had about 400 dives before doing penetration dives where the only light source was our lights.

So people are saying a couple hundred. That's about what I expected.

Now let me rephrase the question: How long were you diving before you penetrated?
