I Happen to agree with you H2O mostly old guys.But do you know the how the diving reflex affects the human body? Well I do. Do you know the dangers of a PFO? How about a Thoracic Squeeze is? Most of the people on hear are consumer level that put there face in the water and go oooowwww pretty things. So I take what you people say with a Grain of salt. H20 thanks for the good advice. Well that took 5 seconds and 1/10000 of my internet bill. I learned all that stuff from my mentor at the dive shop for free. Don't pull out that stuff. Do you know how to solve a Partial differential equation? See how that sounds? If your going to actually try and beg for money. errr a scholarship... you should at least be respectfull and courteous.

What kind of diving have you done so far? How many hours have you logged under water?

This is my opinion as a college student: Your college degree is an investment. For people like us who are not financially secure, we have to weigh that investment against what we'll get back out of it. You really can't get a private loan? Are you getting the full 12,500 in Stafford loans? You say you have a job. If you want to stay in school that bad, put the $2900 on credit cards. It sucks but it's a means to stay in school. You can slowly pay them off till you graduate then get rid of them with a huge salary. Have you thought about commerical diving school?

Daniel, you keep parading around your meager knowledge as if it's going to impress somebody here. Anybody who spends any time on this site knows precisely what a PFO is, and if they don't, a Wikipedia search will fill them in in no time. You are just amplifying my point: Barry University is charging you a lot of money to impart knowledge that isn't very valuable. If it were your own money, you probably wouldn't spend it this way. That is the nature of subsidy.

As for wages on the Aggressor, they are also pretty meager, and they'd be even worse if I wasn't a generous tipper.

I dont qualify for all the stat loans thanks GI Bill, my dept to income is to high now to apply for more loans. My diving history is diving about once a month for a year till I got to college then it was every Sat and sometimes on sunday. Wrecks in NC, Reefs In Fl, with a few shallow wrecks.

Not only that Valdimir if I cant get a high paying job in the dive industry I have a Sports Mangment degree and a minor in buisness. Working on a Agressor ship yea wages are bad but what about the Fleet Mangers? Dont think you have to tip them for some reason. Valdimir lets hear what the PFO is while your at it and what function and risks are involved in it.

Tell you what: putting Barry students and frat boys at the head of the line leaves me cold.

There already several good scholarship programs out there, AAUS has one for students who want to use diving to do actual science and BTS has one that several people (Norbert Wu most noticeably) have turned into fabulous careers in the diving world.

AAUS requires a membership. Not only that its a Gradute level scholarship once again. Barry is the only one in the world with the Dive Program Thus they get first grab. If you were a part of a greek organzation you would understand. Not a FRAT a fraturnity. But thanks for the input ill take that into consideration.
