Hi,

I am in the process of getting myself new equipment (As you might have noticed from my previous posts) and plan on getting the Halcyon Infinity BC.

I have noticed on several images that people connect the inflator to the left D-ring using either a bungee cord or cave line (Couldn't really see which one).
Since the Infinity only has 1 dump valve, if I were to connect the the inflator to the BC how would I be able to dump air from the BC when vertical? Or if I'm on the surface and want to start the dive?

I'm used to using the inflator hose, or upper valves on the BC, but since I would like to get the infinity was wandering how others do it.

Thanks.

I use a loop of bungie cord around the harness strap (not to the d ring). That allows the bungie to move up with the hose when needed. I just roll it back down after venting to keep the inflator from dangling.

Air inside the wing/corrugated hose will rise to the highest point. Simply make sure that the power inflater assembly is at the highest point...and then depress the exhaust button. No big deal. If you have set up your left chest D-ring properly, then you shouldn't have any trouble dumping gas from your wing while in the vertical position.

Instead of using cave line or bungee on the left chest D-ring, you could thread your inflater hose under a short length of bicycle innertube positioned slightly above that particular D-ring on your harness. The inflater hose slides very nicely under the innertube and can actually enable holding the power inflater assembly higher (vs. the cave line/bungee method).

Hope this helps...

I don't tie my Infinity's corrugated hose to the D-ring. I take a length of bungee cord and tie the corrugated hose to the shoulder strap itself.

Thread the corrugated hose through a piece of inner tube that’s around your left shoulder webbing above the d-ring. The tube will stretch as you lift the inflator to dump air, but also keep it in postion. My infinity come with 6 or 8 tube pieces, they are very strong and durable.

I use a light bungie that makes a loop which is secured by passing behind the left chest d-ring. The inflator hose assembly sits in it (I do not put the bungie between the LP hose and the corrugated hose). The bungie is stretchy enough to allow quite a bit of range of motion for the hose, and the whole thing CAN be removed from the loop if there were ever a need to do so.

In my Zeagle BC there's a velcro strap to hold the inflator hose and corrugated tube to the upper part of the shoulder strap, and that seems to be sufficient. I think you want to be able to lift the point of air exit as high above the wing as possible to get the last bit of air out in shallow water.

Thanks for the replies,

After taking special notice of the D-ring positions I noticed it is quite high and if I were to attach the inflator there it's just like using the velcro on non BP/W BCs I used (Such as the Zeagle Stiletto, Scout and other Jacket style ones) then I guess it is fine. At first sight I thought the D-rings are lower at nipple height, whereas in fact I see now that they are at the upper chest which is high enough.

I think I will attach a bungee/inner tube to the strap as suggested here, and in case it will not be convenient I will try and attach it to where the D-ring is located, as seen here:

Thanks again for your kind answers!
