Has anyone installed a pee valve in a Waterproof D1 hybrid drysuit? I've just purchased one and ordered the Halcyon pee valve.

Is there anything special that needs to be considered in putting a hole through the 3D mesh liner?

We've been doing them at that shop. Good punch, then remove liner for install to make sure valve is seated properly, put back in liner an fish the hose thru!

Thanks, Wayne. I didn't think it would be a problem but just wanted to hear someone else say that.

Did you punch through both the shell and the liner at the same time?

Yes.... don't screw it up :D

So that would be easier than punching a hole through the shell, installing the valve, then putting the liner back in and marking the spot by feeling where the valve meets the liner?

Punching through the mesh liner (as opposed to "fishing" the tube through it) will create a hole that is bigger than the actual tube, which itself is not a problem.

The edge of the mesh won't fray like the bottom of cut off jeans and gradually become a bigger hole?

Shoot it with a .45 to create the hole. :D

Saves from having to buy a punch.

Wayne, Waterproof says to heat the edges of the hole in the liner to prevent fraying. Have you been doing that?
