James, I am very sad to hear this. I hope you contact PADI immediately. That is just a bunch of nonsense. I wonder if they would have refused to allow you to continue if you were an amputee and missing an arm. Good luck to you and do let us know what PADI says.

I will look for an HSA certified instructor but will probably not find one here in Asia :(
Had some great and very enjoyable DSD dives in Maldives, Philippines, Gili islands, etc but I will look for an HSA instructor
HSA Instructors are available in many countries. A training class was just held in Japan for example. I just checked and instructors are available in Japan, Korea, Philippines, Thailand and other places. See HSA - Handicapped SCUBA Association to find an instructor.
I note there is an HSA Active instructor in Thailand in the area of Chaweng, Bophut,
Thailand Of course, for the cost of airfare and hotel, I could see myself in Asia.:wink:
