    Back Again

I used to be venturediver on here until that profile got absolutely jacked up. Got tired of dealing with it so I just created a new one. And here I am.

Reasons to date a scuba diver...

Because we can use terms like bottom time, down time, deep penetration, we can talk about hose lenght, sac rate, and how deep we've been without giggling or sounding like a room full of perverts.

    Creation vs. Evolution

If I tried to get into the scientific basis of creation versus evolution, I'm sure I would look somewhat foolish. Which I am good enough at doing without writing something foolish. So, I'll just stick with what I believe. Hopefully this thread will evolve or mutate or adapt or be created into...

    Creation vs. Evolution

Rick, I agree with you. God created life. God is in control of what life does and when it does it. How he has chosen to make life work is beyond my meager grasping abilities. I'll ask him when I see him. Until then, I'll just be thankful he thought to include me.

    Creation vs. Evolution

Do we consider evolving and mutating the same thing? I may be wrong, but it was my understanding that say when Staph is exposed to pennicillin for an extended period of time, it does not evolve into a different bacteria, it just develops defense mechanisms to counteract the effects of the...

    Creation vs. Evolution

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to totally discredit evolution. I'm just implying that based on my studies and beliefs, it is not the sole answer to Life, The Universe, and Everything.

    Creation vs. Evolution

How exactly do we know what the timeline is for evolution? We assume based on scientific evidence that is constantly proven and disproven that it takes millions of years for a species to evolve. Yet, we have never seen any one species truly evolve into a higher level. We have seen them adapt...

    Creation vs. Evolution

I have a question. If the theory that man evolved from apes in order to adapt to the ever changing world around it, then why haven't we continued to evolve in to greater humans, and why haven't apes continued to evolve as their environment is eliminated and becomes more populated? If this...

    Worst Movie Ever?

Okay, I just saw Hostel this weekend. Normally I like Tarrantino's stuff, but this movie SUCKED. It was like he just said "Let's see how much gross crap we can put in a movie and still get people to watch it." What a waste. I'll probably catch flack for this one but I thought Syriana...

    Worst Movie Ever?

I would have to say anything by Woddy Allen. He makes my brain itchc. George of the Jungle sucked too. Oh, and any Jaws movie after the second one.

    They walk amongst us

I always told people that it was so when we were backing up, it would look like it was spelled right. Amazingly, that never got questioned.

That one is kinda hard to answer. I still have problems when small children are involved. I guess you just have to look at how much you are helping instead of how bad it sucks that they are hurt. Eventually, you just get to where you can push past it. Its a job, just like anything else.

Right, its 24 on 48 off, but if you figure it biweekly, it comes up to around 106 hours. Thats just the way our city does it. Plus you get paid more if you are a paramedic, or are on the dive or haz mat team.

We do not have to have a CDL, but we have to pass an EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operations Certification) and be at least 21 to drive. Our SCBA's are pumped to 2216. We use the MSA Firehawk 2 with aluminum bottles. However, a 60 minute bottle is pumped to 4500 PSI. The rule of thumb for air...
