EDIT: AND CHEAP!! ~ $300.00 range, or less!

aeris atmos 2 at scubatoys

cheap, cheap batteries, easy to change batteries, good display,
everything you need unless you want to do deco

also, a much more relaxed algorythm than the Suuntos. lets
you be in charge of your profile.

You guys really have to stop w/ the Cheap, Cheap, Cheap stuff.

One should buy the best he / she can afford - period.

Let's face it - diving is not cheap - period...

You are right, but - the Versa Pro I suggested and the Aires that Andy suggested (same thing really, I think) are good computers - certainly a lot better than none if that's what the budget can handle. :)

With all due respect,why?

Why is purchasing a dive computer, that is safe, reliable and within my means cheap?

I can afford a Porsche, to get to work, but I choose to drive my Mazda instead. It does the same thing, (get's me to work), safely, and for a lot less money.

lol, spend your money any way you want

as for me, i'll get what i need for the lowest price avaiable

i dare you to mention a needed feature for a non-deco diver that the Atmos 2
doesn't have. i don't need the latest, blitz-advertised fancy stuff.

that way i can put my money to other, better uses, such as
buying fills

I second the recommendation for the Suunto Gekko.

I third the recommendation for the Aeris Atmos II =)

Even if you can afford it, there's no reason for a new, infrequent diver to buy a VR3, Nitek He, or Suunto Vyrtec.

Strictly warm water, recreational diving? Go with something simple, that's nitrox compatible. Infrequent diver (20 dives a year)? No reason to spend a fortune on something... get something simple that works.

Aeris Atmos II fits the bill, don't get sucked into the scuba gear elitism game.

Brandon, and H2Andy, you hit the the nail on the head with your posts. After reading these posts, and much research, I've decided not to rent, and to purchase an Aeris Atmos II. Thanks, again, everyone for your input. Great board!
