Warmest Water Diver: 87 at the surface

Dive Location Farthest From My Home: Perch lake, New Mexico (about 400 mile drive IIRC)

2005 New Certification / Education: Sadly, none

Favorite Dive: Perch lake (best vis)

Least Favorite Dive: None, lol what a question!

New Equipment Purchased: All new gear this year: BC, tanks, regs, suit, lights

How I did on my 2005 Goals: my goal was just to dive as much as possible.

Dive Goals for 2006: nitrox and deep certs, ocean diving, getting good at UW photography.

MY 2005 DIVING STATS

Number of Dives: 64

Total Bottom Time: No idea

Maximum Depth: 45m (147ft)

Coldest Water Dived: 4c (39f) - local quarry at depth

Warmest Water Diver: 28c (82f) - florida keys

Dive Location Farthest From My Home: Key Largo (4350 miles)

2005 New Certification / Education:

Diving related: TDI Nitrox, Dive Leader, Dive planning & marshalling, practical rescue managment. Other related: VHF/DSC radio

Favorite Dive:

Night dive in the keys

Least Favorite Dive:

Any one of the many in Wattwick bay. Shallow, flat featureless sandy bottom. Dull. Very very dull..

New Equipment Purchased:

Far more than id like and can afford. Most expensive probably camera and new wing.

How I did on my 2005 Goals:

Only half the number of dives hoped for. Failed to get out to the offshore sites at all due to the weather. Disappointing.

Dive Goals for 2006:

Try to get 100 dives in. More deeper wrecks than managed this year. Finish up some outstanding boat handling and other qualifications this years weather have prevented me doing.

Other:

In short, 2005 a disappointing year with a total of 50 potential dives cancelled due to unusually poor (mainly strong wind) weather right through the year destroying many weekends. Distant/offshore sites not reached even once due to the weather. Add that to poor reliability of boats late on when the weather improved slightly meant i got little over half the number of dives i wanted. This also meant some qualifications im working through remain unfinished. Hopefully 2006 will have more normal weather, boats will be more reliable and i get get things finished. Just to highlight this my 130ft end of year wreck dive planned for tomorrow has been cancelled. Strong winds again.

MY 2005 DIVING STATS

Number of Dives: 47 (not as many as I'd like but not bad for a desert girl)

Total Bottom Time: Puhleaze..that's alot of addition. :) I'd say about 40 hours.

Maximum Depth: 133 ft.

Coldest Water Dived: 52 degrees, San Clemente in July. (Puget Sound in Nov. was 53)

Warmest Water Dived: 86 degrees Cozumel August

Dive Location Farthest From My Home: Puget Sound 1689 miles from home.

2005 New Certification / Education: Stress/Rescue and Divecon/Asst. instructor SSI

Favorite Dive: Gosh, that's tough. Probably Italian Gardens, Catalina, with 6 Giant Black Sea Bass congregating around.

Least Favorite Dive: Dalilah Reef, Cozumel. 4 knot current and white out sand conditions. But even that was pretty fun. Like skiing in a blizzard..in 86 degree water. It wasn't productive, I didn't see a thing because we were flying. But it was fun.

New Equipment Purchased: USIA drysuit, new Atomic reg, Oceanic vortex 12 fins. VT Pro computer and transmitter. Then replaced the wrist component after it was stolen. :(

How I did on my 2005 Goals: Surpassed on education, as my only goal was to take Stress/Rescue. Also, I made it to WA state to dive, and I've wanted to do that for a couple of years now, but was a primary goal when I got the drysuit.

Dive Goals for 2006: To make 70 logged open water dives. To complete OW instructor training. (PADI IDC)

Other: I want to take time and slow down, to appreciate every little creature that presents itself. I'm taking training into the professional realm, so I want to really remember why I love diving and how to best present that to students. I want to keep ahold of my enthusiasm and to be able to share it with others. Oh and seeing a whale shark would be nice!!! :)
