For what it's worth, being judgmental and opinionated beyond one's experience is something folks go through when they're in that 20-80 dive range. After getting closer to 100 dives or so, and getting additional training, one's eyes tend to open up and realize that a large number of views they used to hold are based largely on ignorance and accepting the views of other people rather uncritically.

Buddies with bad habits that annoy you can and should be avoided. But beyond that, there's really not much of substance to your complaints. They point more to your inexperience than anything else.

You know, KP, your post brings to mind a relatively recent thread: http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/whine-cheeze/332928-you-afraid-post.html#post5206646 where the OP begins:

There are thousands of readers on SB, but only a relatively few posters. Is this because people are unsure of their posting skills or perhaps unwilling to risk getting bashed, flamed, corrected, or lectured?

...

SB is all about teaching and learning, so I wonder if some of the more frequent posters would we willing to share their secrets? Got any rules? Had any bad experiences? Can you give examples of good versus bad posting techniques?

Yawn....too much petty stuff going on here. Assess your own diving skills and goals, find a new group to dive with, relax. If that doesn't work, have you thought of taking up golf?
