Has anyone in the southwest ever dove "Blue Grotto" in Santa Rosa, NM?? I remember stopping there overnight on my way to Ft. Huachuca back in 83. I was going to get certified on Long Island where I was stationed, and opted out when I got orders for Sierra Vista.

Anyway, I remember picking up a brochure in the motel with a advert for the Blue Grotto. I laughed and said to the motel owner that who in the world would dive in the desert. He said most of the traffic he gets was from divers coming from around the world to dive in the hole. Never though much about it until now. I know it's a haul from Tucson, but might be interesting....

Haven't had the chance yet, but it's on our list. It's about 8-10 hours from where we're at. There's diving a lot closer. We'll hit it one day, though.

When I lived in SV, I thought the same thing, but now that I dive, I regret not doing it sooner. There's a lot of good diving within a 6 hr drive from Southern AZ.
