Ah come on Alberto, you know Bill is just exaggerating a little. Ice picks! We know he just want’s to dive in Florida and needs to convince himself it will be OK to leave Catalina.

Will we see the DiveNav team in the park Saturday?
I was planning to dive Vets Park ... we need to take pictures of the area for the next eSite.

Also, the Wrinkles folks always leave me in the ... "dust" .... they all have double and triple tanks and have bottom time of days. For them a week-end of diving means .. "drop down Saturday morning and emerge Sunday afternoon .... just in time to take the last boat out". :D

Maybe I could ask them to take some pictures / videos of the - very very interesting - reef located at -110 ft, maybe 150 yards outside the park: due east of the North-West buoy and due north of the South East buoy.

Every time I go there (virtually) I get really scared .... maybe I should add some sharks to the area ...:shakehead:

Dr. Bill,
do you know what is out there?

My lovely bride and I are going to dive the Casino Park Saturday Nov. 10 Wrinkles Dive
Anyone else plan on making the dive?
Ooooo, Oooooo, Me, Me! With hubby in tow of course!

Unfortunately I made reservations to fly back to Florida on that very day to help Mom for a few weeks. Hope everyone has a great time!

This is drbill's way of saying he doesn't mind diving in waters where Great White's roam but diving rabbits scare him to death :rofl3:

You'll be missed drbill, I was looking forward to meeting you.

Dave... make sure your group (and the Wrinkles group) bring ice picks or augers. It's awfully darn cold out here today with rain threatening.
Can we define "cold" please? It was in the 40's and pleasant here today, I didn't even need to zip my jacket :)

Come out and dive with the Wrinkles party crashers then. Hubby and I dive singles and we've never been in salt water in our drysuits PLUS I tend to end up tangled in anything that remotely LOOKS like rope (kelp qualifies). I probably wouldn't recommend actually buddying with us but watching from a safe distance is probably going to be amusing...bring a camera (video is best). I dive with a hood that has rabbit ears on it and I'm a little nervous because I've seen sea lions grab fins and other danglies in Mexico. I'm wondering if I'm going to be dragged through the kelp by an ear-grabbing seal :11:

I know what you mean. Many of those guys have great air control and carry a dozen or so tanks down with them.

I will be taking my (revamped) video system, maybe I'll convince my lovely bride to venture down there and shot some tape for you! Depending on conditions. Good luck at Vets, vis may be a problem there after this big surf this week!

Ber, Cold to us is anything below 70, forecast is for mid 60’s and the water is a touch colder at depth.
I’ll have my video camera and plan on taping your first kelp entanglement!:D

Your ears should prove exciting to the Garibaldi:wink:

Mmmmhhhh ..... bad viz and big surf? No good for diving.

Maybe I will just ride up with my new Ducati 1098 and take some top side pictures only.

... my new Ducati 1098 ....

Now you are just making me mad!:D

At least I don't panic when tangled so you should be able to get some really good video of a rabbit tied to kelp being attacked by the local wildlife :dork2:

Thought you all should be aware that there have been reputable sightings of makos just outside the dive park this week. Rather unusual, but 12-14 footers are reported inshore closer to the East End... usually by spearfishers (hmmm, I wonder what attracted them).

Chica and I are thinking of pointing the scooters away from the island and exploring the deep reef the Freelance keeps fishing - just outside past the Kismet and Pieces.

What's that called? Big Casino reef? I've always wanted to go over and see what's doin, and with the scoots it will be a lot easier.

The possibility of a shark siting makes it even more exciting!
