The one thing I like about Destin is those jettys.

I remember Ivan put alot of sand on the beach, not nearly to this extent, but it cleared within a few months. I'm sure this will clear as well.

The amount of sand is far more than I've ever seen so I can't tell how long it might take to clear.

They will need to dredge the pass for larger boats to get through. I'm sure they will have to fix the jetty when they dredge the pass or the sand from the jetty will end up back in the channel where they just dredged.

The sea-life will probably take a while to recover, but maybe most critters had taken off due to storms, red tide, and approaching winter. We'll just have to wait and see.

But Paul won't have any crabs to play with (harrass) when he dives there! :)
 
I'll try to coax a few to stay around just for Paul. I'll see if any are around on my dive tomorrow.
