Haven't been there and can't wait for something to occur that will allow me to travel to Cuba and dive myself. It is supposed to have some of the LEAST touched reef system in the carribean and it would be neat to observe the habitat before commercialism hits it.

If your friend travels there, see if some pics can be posted. :)

Not to mention seeing all the old american cars. Does it seem unfair that American corporations are allowed to invest dollars there, but not Americans as individuals?

I have heard mixed reviews on the diving from people who have been there. Boat problems, staff problems (being left floating at the end of the drift)...
 
I spend 1-2 weeks every year in Cuba.

The diving is great. The reefs are awesome. Lots of fish.

No boat problems or any other problems diving.

Last year the DMtook me with him while he was getting dinner. (a huge grouper).

first time I ever say a spear gun in action. it was pretty kewl.
