Thanks for finding that Guy. Do they issue citations?

I beleive they have in the past, but I know before I was aware of the reg I never had a problem. I was usually diving solo, so maybe they're mainly worried about having classes take up most of the beach. Or maybe it's just way down the priority list, especially nowadays when they're happy to have anyone in town who might pay for some service like lunch.

There also used to be signs posted along Cannery Row at McAbee prohibiting divers loading, dressing or gearing up, but they must have been taken down before I started diving 3+ years ago, and I don't know if that Monterey ordinance is still in effect. I know I've never been hassled for dressing/gearing up there, by police or meter people.
