Just make sure the DVD supports the burned DVD a while back DVD -R was the best beat, but that may have changed.

Nero isn't free, but it is the best DVD/CD burning software out there, bar none.

If the OP is trying to copy a compresses DVD (legally of course), they will need to use something like DVD Shrink to compress the data before it is written. If it is simply writing home movies or data then I agree with Nero. It is very simple to use.
