I had many failures on the mountain snowbarding with that type of set up. You have 6 (or 8) straps on a snow board. That is holding weight and not carrying weight. With so many straps a failure means a slow ride down and an hour fixing it. A failure on the water would ruin your first and break you buddies foot when your tank dropped on deck, after the hour fixing you just missed a days diving. The ridges on the ratchet wear down, and the plastic is compromised at the rivet points, and it looks like aluminum rivets.I like the idea (alot), this version, I am staying away from.
