i would think the desent would be a problem it would be the assent if you are gassie on the way down as the pressure builds at depth and the small compressed bubbles combined in to larger bubles at depth expand on your way up they will come out. but getting water in the wrong end wont hert anything if you have ever watered skied and fallen on your but you have experience it

Secondly, any water that entered should be expelled the next time you fart. It'd be like an enema....at five fathoms. It'd suck.
That is incorrect ... actually, it'd blow ... :eyebrow:

The real question is, would it enhance your propulsion ...

I can only imagine what the Warhammer maneuver is. (please PM me the address, it's lost in the archives) Depending on your choice of exposure protection, you could bottle it up in your drysuit and share with the whole boat. A bare t-200 really traps the fragrance well!

The pressure between the outside and inside of your body is equalized so you should have no water entry unless your beetle ring is blown.

Should you feel the urge to expel a large amount of gas at 100 feet, just remember, you will have a greater volume of gas at the surface. Don't waste it at 4.03 ata when it could be so much more at 1ata. Good luck!:D

The next time a buddy decides to show off and blow air rings, just invert and show them how to take a REAL walk on the wild side.
