Is there a technique I can try to perfect that knee bent "skydiver" type position?

Get a large exorcize ball, i.e. the big low pressure balls used in gyms etc. and a full length mirror.
Lay face down on the ball with the mirror to the side, hands on the ground to balance.
Get into the correct "Skydiver" position and learn how it feels and which muscles it taxes.
This is also useful for practicing frog kicks, back kicks, etc.
