We just got back from Hawaii, and dove with AAA Diving... do a search on this site and you will find some good info. Also check out their website Hawaii Scuba Diving with AAA Diving Hawaii.
(and believe what you read... they may be a bit more pricey, but well worth it!! we saw some of the other boats, and they where packed with divers, and even diving in a site where the current was so strong our DM didn't want to tie the mooring line... no fun there!)
We dove with Alex, had a great time. They pick you up at your hotel, the boat is comfy, and big... on our first trip there were only 5 divers.. so plenty of room. Saw lots of turtles, loads of fish, eagle rays and an octopus or two... whales on the surface, and a white tip shark at Turtle Canyon.
They even picked us up for dinner at his fav. Italian restaurant. (asked for dinner recommendations, and got an invite instead.)
He lets you do your own thing... just dive your computer, and come back to the boat with some air.
We would dive with him again.
