You have the newer wisdom2 computer and you want choice 6 for the USB drivers thats the 32 bit drivers. I would uninstall everything and delete all the folders and download everything again. Also I would turn of your virus scanner if you have one.

Wait, what? There's a Wisdom that handles deep stops??? Is this a firmware upgrade I can get for my existing Wisdom 2?

Will do. Holding breath.View attachment 62429

I think I held my breath too long... I've suffered dain bramage.

I now can run the software without error messages but I cannot complete the handshake with the DC. I've tried the interface cord the logical way with the Sherwood Scuba label up. (Oriented to the computer screen), and down but neither seems to get through. Interface found... I hit ">" (go). It says, handshake....timeout. It was easier to do the firemans carry with my overweight buddy...(not easy)....(almost not possible):shakehead: than it has been to get this going. (whaaa!)

After you uninstalled and reinstalled the driver, the first time you plugged the interface cable in your computer should have gone through a device recognition routine - did that happen?

Check your Device Manager, under Universal Serial Bus controllers you should have a listing for "2002 Design Inc. USB Download Device".

Label goes up. I sometimes have to shift mine radially one way or the other to get a full connection. Easier to show than to write, but it's kind of like using the blinker control off your steering wheel - i.e. plug in straight, try that, if no connect then shift it up like if you were turning your blinker on for a right turn, try again, then try shifted down like for a left turn. It might look like it's not plugged in straight, but that's how mine connects.

Send me your email in a PM and I will email you the info Sherwood sent me, maybe it will help you out.

Thanks FC 66,

I got a "new hardware found" message.

I do have the 2002 Design Inc. USB Download Device in my Device manager.

I'll try the right and left turn blinker thing..... Thanks for confirming the label goes up, it's kind of a sloppy fit.

Sherwood Rep: I'd recommend a better cable connection design as a really good way of improving the Wisdom 2. :)

Hi Sherwood Rep,

Just to clarify,

I seem to have the software. (although it won't let me enter anything in the serial number field. Is that because it gets the serial no. off the DC?)

Under Dive Log>> Dive>
I get. "Please add new dive(s) before viewing further information."
I click "Okay"
I get:
Two choices. I select download from DC. [Wisdom (Metal Buttons)]. Hit Okay.
New window opens: "Download from WISDOM (Metal Buttons) and in the header bar, "USB Interface FOUND"
I plug in my DC Interface cable into my DC, the other end is already in the USB port of my laptop.

Now, according to note #6 in the same window: "A PC will appear with a 120 second countdown (you have 2 minutes to initiate the connection PC-PDC). If the PC screen does not appear, unplug the interface cable from the PDC for 10 second then repeat step 5 to step 6.

This is where I am stuck now. I've been doing this since the last post... :joke:

I don't get a "PC to appear".

Starting to look like it could be a hardware problem???

It sound like you have the wrong cable. They have two now.

P.S.

Sherwood when are you going to come out with an update to the escort computer?

Michelle's Guy,

It sounds like you have the wrong cable.

The Wisdom2 w/Chrome Buttons (9100 Series) requires the SDK400.
The Wisdom2 w/Blue Buttons (7100 Series) requires the SDK200.

Make sure you have the correct cable.

Sherwood Rep.

There is not a software upgrade. In order to get the deep stop you will need to upgrade to the new version.
