Does anyone have experience with Puerto Rico shore diving?

Thinking of a trip in late Feb-early March '08, and we really prefer to shore dive.... Suggestions?

Jim

I got certified in PR back in 2003. I did some pretty awesome shore diving (caverns) up near Isabella. I believe the shop was La Cueva Submarina. It is on the northwestern side of the island. They were great. But, that was 4 years ago. For what it is worth.

Thanks. It appears there may be some shore diving in the Aguadilla area, which is near Isabella I think. I just haven't found too many other people familiar with PR!

there is a shop near the Normandie Hotel close to old San Jaun they have a beach dive out the back of the hotel, depending on conditions it can be good or very poor vis. I am leaving for San Juan Wednsday for 10 days and I'm staying at the Normandie Hotel. I am hoping to get in a few dives, from the web site it looks to be very expensive to go on a planed trip with them one tank dive $120.00 If that is the case I may have to find some locals and dive with them. I will bring my basic gear and rent the rest.
